Lucia update
She has been doing much better today in terms of fever, and I think she will have no fever tomorrow. However, she has also been quite cranky and tired and wanted to be held all the time, so I hope her appetite is back up tomorrow as well. Good news is she has been drinking a lot of water today.

Fun in the ER (update)
We spent about 6 hours in the ER last night. It was boring, and at times upsetting. She refused to drink so we took a syringe with water and squirted that in her mouth while she protested profusely. Definitely not fun, but better than an IV. The doctor finally did another test that actually confirmed she did not have a urine tract infection which is great, but then why does she have 104 in fever? This became obvious to me this morning when she woke up around 9:30 am and had a really crusty nose. Oh well, better safe than sorry.

Fun in the ER
We went to the ER tonight for Lucia; she has a urinary tract infection. Below is a recording of her pointing to her name on the hospital bracelet.
Yoo-Cee-Ah!
Lucia has now progressed from referring to herself as Cia to "Yoo-Cee-Ah!" stretched out in three syllables and said with lots of excitement. We labeled her peanut butter with her name on the lid, and she excitedly pointed to the word Saturday and said YOO-CEE-AH!
But don't worry, she still calls herself Cia mostly. This morning when I woke her up, she sat up and said "Cia seeps" and rubbed her eyes, then wanted to play peek a boo. What I wouldn't give for this kid's energy in the morning.

What happened in Vegas ...

It was my first trip to Las Vegas and it started with great food and drinks at the Hard Rock Cafe Friday night. From there we went through several casino-hotels and saw a lot of weird and wonderful things, even spent some chilly minutes in an ice bar called Minus5 Ice Bar where everything is made out of ice, even the glasses!
Our hotel was awesome and amazing (The Aria) and the food was great too however the smell of vanilla was kind of obnoxious. I guess they are trying to mask the smell of cigarettes.Saturday we walked for miles down The Strip, mostly indoors because it was about 109F/42C outside.
Unfortunately we spent too much money at the pool the first day so the next day we decided to walk across the street to SevenEleven, stash up there and head back to the pool where we melted into the water with great success. The clerk at the front desk never managed to give us a room higher up as we requested, but with a bit of luck, his life is ruined forever. Always thinking that just behind some narrow door in all of his favorite bars, men in red woolen shirts are getting incredible kicks from things he'll never know.
But it was a great trip, thank you Chris and Mandy!! we are looking forward to next time!

Ha Det Bra
We had such a great time with Nina and Leif. I wish we lived closer. Pete can recap the highlights, but I think it's safe to say they had a great trip. Ha Det Bra Nina and Leif, which means Have it Well literally, and loosely, Farewell. We'll miss you.

Fun with Bestemor and Bestefar
Nina's not entirely on board with the name Bestemor, so we've tried Nan. Most times Lucia ends up calling her MIMI at the top of her lungs. Hey, whatever works.

Shorts, but so much more
Pete's in Los Angeles with his parents, and I'm here playing single gal. Mrs. B, true to form, is acting up by leaving presents on the carpet, eating them, then vomiting everything up. Not. Awesome. I had dinner with Josh last night, and am having dinner with my friend Laura tonight, then straightening up the apartment and getting to bed early.
Today's plans for the Los Angeles crowd:
Venice beach
Santa Monica
Sunset blvd to Hollywood
Dinner in Pasadena
I see that Lucia's shorts have double usage. Handy!
