Lucia was born earlier this morning at 8:54 am and we are all tired and relieved.What happened was Heather stalled at 7 cm even with Pitocin and when the baby seemed to be a little uncomfortable (heart rate dipping periodically) the decision was made to use C-section.
Within an hour Lucia was delivered. They noticed she had a little difficulty screaming/breathing so they took her to the ICU to help her out. She is going to stay there for a few more days while they do some tests.
As you can see from the pictures the doctors habitual poking of tubes in all openings applies to Lucia as well.
