She May Look Cute

But man, the medication for her cold has made Lucia a terror. TERROR. Hitting me, kicking me, hitting the dog, sobbing at the drop of a hat, sobbing when it's time to go to bed (and us coming in periodically to comfort her makes it way worse), screaming incessantly despite being told NO, etc. etc.

We are hoping we can take her off the medicine soon. Her cough is almost completely gone, and she's only wheezing a bit now, so we know she's feeling better.

Sunglasses are a MUST

Well she's looking stellar, and we think she's feeling better. Thank god for that. Literally.

Fashion Plate

Modeling her new tights and pigtails, which lasted a bit longer this time (but still not all day)

.

Playing with the camera

I ask Lucia if she wants to take a picture. She says No about 500 times. Then we take a picture and she smiles. The end.

Yes we walked from the tippy top of that path

Walking back up was of course way worse.

Just a Touch of Sand

She hated, and I mean hated, the waves tickling her toes. Full on panic and crying and everything when the water came near her. The park was absolutely beautiful and we were um, thankful we didn't bring the stroller. Like it would have made it down the cliff. I would have paid someone, however, for the Ergo on the trip back up. Oof.

We saw real horses today (Lucia waved and greeted them with a neigh), hang gliders, and tons of dogs. Mrs. Baylee got to roll in the sand and act like a real dog. Great, great, great field trip!

A kink in the beach plans

Various Photos and Updates

Catching up on a little Formula 1 with Daddy and eating pretzels (like he'd share his chocolate in the blue box, even if she could have it!)

More bunny ears. She actually likes wearing them. We're still working on the Mickey Mouse ears, Mom.

Another cute shot of her adorable Easter outfit. Courtesy of Mormor's knitting skills!

Cutie pie!

Trying to brush her teeth with the grill brush. Hey, if we can encourage her, we'll do whatever it takes.

that last post

Was written by Heather -- not sure why it said Pete...

Night Fever

Me explaning to Lucia that we have to brush her teeth after her "juice" (probiotic drink).

Lucia and I both haven't been feeling that great this weekend; she's been crankers and has had a slight fever, and I woke up today with a sore throat and what I think to be a fever (we only have one thermometer and it's Lucia's and you can guess where we put it, and you will understand why I don't know definitively if I had a fever). Anyway, things kinda peaked today; I felt progressively worse this afternoon, and was FREEZING when we came home from having lunch in the city, took Advil, put on a heavy sweater (see photo) and we went about our evening. Lucia went to bed around 8, and had her last dose of Motrin around 6. She woke up crying at 10, and as soon as I picked her up I knew her temperature was crazy high again. It was 102.8 F (39.33 C), which wasn't as high as last time, but definitely not good. We've given her Tylenol, and tried to get her to drink some cold water, but she didn't want it. We managed to talk her into drinking some "juice" which is a probiotic drink, but then we had to brush her teeth afterwards of course. I rocked her with a cool rag on her head until she fell asleep; she seemed cooler when I put her down. We are due to check her again at 12 midnight and 2 a.m. The fun never ends over here.

Her Latest

This is basically a video just to show off her cute outfit. I love this little fleece jacket, and the skirt is courtesy of my friend Robin. So cute! Other highlights: Mrs. B chases her tail, and we say bye bye like 11 times.

LoJack Free

Pete had his antenna removed. What started as a nub when we were dating evolved into a full-on bump, protuding from the top of his scalp. We used to joke with friends that that's where I installed the LoJack to track his movements. Here's what it looked like:

So an appointment was made to have it removed. On the day of, I was really nervous, not knowing if they were going to knock him out or what, and in a hilarious way, the doc and nurse thought I was worried about scarring. I wasn't worried about that at all -- I was worried about them cutting into my husband's head, hello. Needless to say, I was dismissed to the waiting room during the procedure. After about 20 minutes, I got to come back and see how he was doing (cause they were done). His antenna had been removed and was now sitting in a beaker; it looked just like a chick pea. We made lots of jokes about what if that's where all the chocolate he eats ends up or what if the antenna was the source of his superpowers. I said if it was the source of him filtering being a douchebag, we'd probably have it have it re-installed. He's recovered from the procedure nicely though, I'm happy to report. Here's what it looks like now.

Hoppy Easter

We went to an Easter egg hunt yesterday and naturally, Lucia was nonplussed about the whole thing. I even bought her an Elmo basket to collect eggs and she had bunny ears from my mom, but she managed to sleep through the start of the hunt, so by the time we got there it was too late. However, that didn't prevent her from looking incredibly stylish:

She's wearing her ensemble knitted by Mormor (complete with hat), merino wool tights, coat from Mimi and those sunglasses, which she is absolutely in love with. But no outfit is complete without bunny ears:

It was very cold when the sun went in (frequently), so we kept her warm but encouraging her to run around and play on the playground equipment. She really likes slides, so that's good. She was also very interested in the other kids easter eggs, and eating strawberries (of course). Pete got her to go on the swings (the past few times we've tried she doesn't like). This time she kept saying WHEEE! WHEEE!

Here's a nice family pic of us (notice she has removed all of her accessories).
