First Meeting
This video is so sweet it's hard for me to watch; my heart wants to burst with emotion around it. Enjoy.

U2 Concert
Last Christmas Heather bought me (us) two tickets to go see U2 at the Oakland Coliseum, (now officially called Overstock.com Coliseum, which is ironic because it never sells out). Lenny Kravitz was opening band and he was already rocking hard by the time we got there. On the outfield there was a giant circle stage with a circular 360 walkway around it, a couple of bridges and to top it off a 167ft spider structure on top of that with a giant 360 degree monitor:
Our seats were in the nosebleeds, but directly center of the stage so the view was amazing. Heres a video of when the band enters the stage:
Pretty amazing. The most magical moment was when Bono was talking about what a man would see from 200 miles up, no borders, cities blending into ribbons of light.. He then cues to this man, which is Mark Kelly Giffords which says Hello Oakland! Floating in The International Space Station he introduces the next song: A Beautiful Day. This wasn't the only city given the outer space treatment, you can see a link of Giffords intro video here.
We had a great time at the concert, however on our way home we got trapped in the crowd trying to get on the BART which is conveniently located just a short walk away from the stadium but when thousands try to cross a walk bridge it can get pretty tight. We made it though and could have slept 5 hours more this morning.

Something
We're not sure what to call this video. Whirling Dervish? Her "Lucia" doll goes with her dollhouse, and she's been obsessed with it since the Easter Bunny brought it. We also have a new bed for her dollhouse where Mommy/Daddy sleep, so we can teach her to concept of shhhh being quiet in the morning.
Special morning
Saw this one Monday morning at the local gas station. According to the owner the car was the winning prize in a lottery by a British noodle company and was given "special treatment". The original motor died a few years back and the owner replaced it with an american V8.

Gifts from Ninny and Farfar
Gifts arrived from Norway today! Lucia walked out into the hallway tonight to model her new skirt and loudly proclaimed it was "from Ninny and Farfar!" So funny. Then she shouted, COME SEE MY ANIMALS!! And so here she is showing me her animals. Complete with sound effects. Me-wow is my favorite one.

Humor Me
Oh Em Gee here she goes again about Lucia's hair.
Yep.
Here I go again. Humor me here. Giggle with me as we discuss the more mundane aspects of life.
Tangles, I got you beat. I've mentioned it before, but her hair was a tangly tangly mess of ratnest/cotton candy. I tried a 2 in 1 thing. Then a separate shampoo + conditioner + detangler. NADA. No change. Still tangles. Still the cries of OW MOMMY. I was starting to really sympathize with my mom, who basically said eff it and cut my hair off when I was 3. For which I may or may not have trouble letting go of.
Ahem. So anyway. I started using the fancy hair product on her -- no shampoo, nothing else, just this, and VOILA. Tangle free bouncy curl hair. Feeling jubiliant, and ok, a little cocky, I decided to comb it out last night, while it was dry. It looked really, really pretty when I was done. This morning it looked kind of unfortunate: straight in the front and curly in the back, so I propped up the front with a ponytail and she looked immediately like her name was Sabrina. Cute!
When she came in the door from daycare tonight, it was all kinds of Barry Gibb. I mean.
Look.
This is a cute kid (at least we think so), and look at this unfortunate, unfortunate hair. Somewhat curly. Somewhat stick straight. Overwhelmingly poofy. Note: yes that is Trader Joe's grapeseed oil in the shower. Highly recommend as a shaving cream and eye makeup remover.
Good news though! She's been washed and glammed up and is back to bouncy curls. I suppose I should have a picture, but I didn't want to appear a little nuts about my kid's hair. Perhaps I'm a bit too late on that?

So Awesome
Our dear friends near Redwood City were in a jam for child care today, so Pete to the rescue. He drove in terrible, terrible traffic to their house to watch Eddie today. Lucia was so excited to go see him, she literally ran down the hallway in our building before Pete was out the door. She loves her some Eddie. YAY Pete to the rescue! You rule dude!

A friendly cat
Lucia and the cat from Pete Hansen on Vimeo.
Lucia wanted to give this cats nice rocks more than anything. I'm not sure if she intended to feed the cat rocks or gift them to the cat. Cat was not impressed.Monday, December 6, 2010

Baby Has Magical Powers
Baby is able to pee on the potty now! Apparently Baby's system is working quite well, because she frequently has to go and wow, she goes for a while. Maybe baby is drinking a lot of water?
