Thankful
We are so thankful our family on the east coast is safe. Terrifying to think about a tree falling on their houses. They are unscathed, but some are without electricity. Keep safe. We love you.

Not Again!
Yep, again. Another ear infection. Her fever was 103 at the doc today. Oy. We always go back and forth over whether to treat these. Today I was so tired and not feeling great myself so I just told the Doc to make the call. He said to treat it. We know she'll feel better tomorrow.

First Official Haircut
Little Missy Miss has never had a real haircut. Sure I've cut it in our bathroom, using my rudimentary "skills" which involved cutting directly across the bottom a total of three times, but lately it was looking super raggedy and well, it was time. Thankfully, my good friend Dianna is a hairdresser and offered to cut it. Pete and I both want to keep her hair long (and well, Lucia does too) so this was a big deal: trusting someone to cut it. Saturday was the big day. Pete had to work, so we headed over to Palo Alto for the cut in a big-girl salon. She wasn't the biggest fan of the washing/conditioning stage; I think the sound scared her, but she sat pretty still (I mean, for a 4 yo) for the duration of the haircut. Dianna was impressed and said it was the easiest kid ever. Sweet. Lucia cleaned out their brownie bite collection and I sipped hot tea (we've been nursing nasty colds.) Her hair looks SO MUCH BETTER now and seems less prone to tangles, although I admit to not really doing much to her hair everyday. Thanks Dianna! You da best.

Bodega Bay
Our weekend trip to Bodega Bay was pretty awesome * minus the part about how Pete had to stay home to work. :( That part was sad and I admit I cried about it, twice.
We paired up with our favorite families, the ones we went camping with last year, to rent this amazing house for the weekend. Lauren, organizer extraordinaire, created a spreadsheet and we all got meal assignments. Aleyta, who is new to the group, brought gift boxes for each kid and mommies too! (and tons of maternity clothes for me -- hooray!). It was seriously the most relaxing weekend I've had in a long time. There wasn't phone signal, so I couldn't text or check Facebook or anything all weekend. Ahhhhhhhhhhhh. Lucia slept in the bed with me, which worked out OK. We had a picnic Saturday afternoon and sat outside to eat our lunches. Lauren took Lucia with her when it was naptime, as my eyes were practically crossed I was so tired. She's a God-send. The husbands of the group took care of me too, helping me cook and unload/load my car and just generally checking in on me. Everyone understood my energy level was in the negatives, and just took care of me. Man it was awesome. We really missed Pete though, and were so happy to see him when we got home yesterday afternoon. Here's some pictures of the weekend.
