New Bay Bridge Opening - Maiden Voyage

Late evening of September 2 we were among the very first to go over the new eastern span of the Bay Bridge! When we heard they were planning to open the new bridge nearly 6 hours early we decided to go check it out that night. We got in the car and waited close to one of the onramps and then a few minutes after 10:15PM traffic started slowly moving. The first thing you notice when you drive over the bridge is how nice and clean it is. The pavement is smooth and even the lighting is super even, I think they did a great job setting up all the lights because you are never blinded by them, yet there is plenty light. As you approach the main tower the whole bridge tower fills the view and it almost looks like a cathedral.

Somebody we know didn't last to see the return trip.

Bacon chocolate (4/6)

What on earth can be better??? Bacon goes well with almost anything, so why not also chocolate?
There has been many partnerships of fortune throughout the ages:
Smith&Wesson, Black&Decker, Barnes&Noble, Ben&Jerry, and some foods compliment each other perfectly: Beer&Pizza, Chicken&Pasta to mention some. And then there's Bacon&Chocolate.
Why didn't I think of that?!!

Heather and I opened the packaging drooling like Lucia and could not get our hands on the bacon chocolate fast enough.
First thing you taste is the chocolate, it melts on your tongue like regular milk chocolate and has a nice texture, but it is milk chocolate not dark so that was a little bummer. Next is Ther some very small crunchy pieces which I actually like a lot. These are probably the bacon pieces. After about 1.6 seconds the bacon starts to hit and it is really good! No joke. it is actually as good as you would think it is. Last comes the aftertaste and it is a bit of a disappointment. After several bites I think it tastes too metallic, or maybe too smokey, either way I dont like it too much.
Verdict: Great start, not so great finish.

Amon Tobin

I went to see Amon Tobin Friday night, this is one of the videos and pictures I took. I have listened to his music for many years and was very excited to see him playing in San Francisco.
It was a pretty good concert, but he only played one song I had heard before which was a bummer. I didn't mind the lack of familiarity though since he is very good at using neat sounds, rhythms and a variety of textures. Only a few times did he digress so far into experimental trance/techno that I found myself yawing.

Most of his stuff is sick samplings that he mixes together: Hip-Hop, Electronic, Jazz, Classical and weird sounds from the Foley room.

iTunes says: "He excels at creating an atmosphere of approaching menace, with short passages of dramatic samples and anxious strings paving way for another array of pummeling beats."
