Win a free case!

I have over the last few months been part of a startup and designed cases for the iPhone and iPad. These cases are high-end machined aluminum cases not the run-of-the-mill plastic crap you see everywhere. They will sell for $100, but here is your chance to win a free case:

Over the next couple of weeks we are going to run a number of drawings for free products on our EDGE Facebook fan page. Early participants will have a significantly greater chance to win since they will participate in every drawing. Only thing you have to do is:

1) Like the EDGE Facebook page www.facebook.com/DesignByEDGE
2) Go to the Wall, click on the Kickstarter link and like the video.

Good luck!

Towed

Okey, some of you may know my car was vandalized some time last week while parked outside our apt building. Basically they made a mess and tried to steal my car - and failed, but managed to break the ignition on the steering column. No longer able to insert the key or start the car I had to have it fixed. It is now at PR Motorsport in Hayward getting a new ignition lock.
I have always left my car unlocked and empty for days like this; no need to cut through the top.

So veddy tired

We had a jam packed weekend so we experimented with no naps, since we couldn't be home from 1-3 each day. It went pretty well - no defcon 10 meltdowns but some irritability at the end of the day. Putting her to bed is a lot easier these nights: after I took this shot I moved her back into her bed and she barely stirred.

Date Night!

At the end of a very long week, we could not wait to go out for date night Friday night. We went out for dinner here and really enjoyed it -- it's a hipster place where the wine list is on an iPad. Fancy. I had some lovely spicy red wine and then we walked over (I floated, given the wine) to the movie theater to see the first show of Senna. It was basically Pete's dream come true to finally see the film, and we both LOVED it. It was fantastic. Afterwards the director was there and took questions from the audience (including one from Pete!) and then signed posters for us. It was awesome. The shot of us here is taken right before the movie started; we're taking ourselves very seriously. We are uber hip (for 5 minutes or so).

Lucia stayed at our daycare provider's house overnight and did great playing with their almost 3-year-old Benjamin. Fun times!

Wattamelon

Like her mother, Lucia can seriously put away some watermelon. Let's hope she doesn't develop an allergy at the age of 12 while competing in a watermelon eating contest. ;)

The Days Are Just Packed

That's the title of a great Calvin and Hobbes book. But we mean it. Pete's job went from part time freelancing to full time and then some. My job went from looking for projects to work on to being so swamped I've wondered how I'm going to get everything done. Lucia went from 3 days a week at daycare to 5 days with no problem (thankfully). It's just been crazy. It's uh, challenging to try to balance life with 2 very full time jobs and one precocious almost 3-year-old. Today we planned to get away somewhere and just chill out. It's really easy to not plan anything on the weekends and get stuck in the monotony of the routine (and sometimes, let's face it, that's welcome and lovely). But today, friends, we're planning an escape so we can recharge our batteries and have fun. Stay tuned for pictures!
